Description
According to Furtwängler, an Aphrodite organising her hair. Copy of the
Hadrian-Antonine period after a lost original from the middle of the 4th
century BC. From the Baron Heyl Collection, Darmstadt; Arndt-Amelung,
individual photographs of antique sculptures IV 1086-89 (bull); special
print from Brunn-Bruckmann-Arndt. Parian marble. Completed: Nose, left
half of the lips, front part of the chin, on the right eye centre of the
upper eyelid, the brow and the forehead above. (Weinmüller)
